Discover the authentic Andean market town, Pisac. The central square houses a colourful textile market, with indigenous Andeans coming from other nearby villages to showcase their best handicrafts. They traditionally use Alpaca wool which is coloured with natural dye from plants and seeds, and woven using intricate traditional patterns that are passed down through the generations. The vividly coloured fabrics are then made into an array of items for sale – clothing, table cloths, cushion covers, and much more.
